Is it cheaper to frame a print myself?

I’m currently not presenting the option of having your print framed on this site (yet). But yes, it would be cheaper in the long run for you to go to a craft store or framing shop so that you can choose what color mat, frame, glass, etc. you would like vs. getting it done “remotely.” That way, if you have any problems you can simply go back to your local shop instead of having to ship it back. I’ve found that it’s fairly inexpensive to either buy a frame you like and have the shop mount your photo on gatorboard or similar or even add a mat to it and then you simply put it in the frame. They may also be ok with you purchasing a frame there and handing it over to them to do the entire job.
